Sensei John P. Mirrione, renowned karate, fitness and spiritual expert, at eight years
old was hurt badly by a bully, but his newly created Stop Bullying Campaign is motivating Americans to take control of this crisis.

Sensei John Mirrione's National Stop Bullying Campaign was launched on Oprah Radio Saturday December 11th, 1:15 PM on the Derrick Ashong Show. The year-long, national, public-awareness and philanthropic effort, designed to support Stop bullying causes, began in Chicago in December 2010. Sensei John is travelingl to 9 cities across the country to share with school children his inspiring story and teach them about building inner strength through meditation and philosophy.

During each of the 9, Stop Bullying Assemblies (in cities from Greenwich to San Diego),
Sensei John Mirrione shares a peaceful technique with school children struggling to cope with their own conflicts: When a conflict arises, the victim and also bystanders should standup and say something as simple as, "Stop!" Mirrione feels that bullies are victims too, and fighting is their way of expressing pain. Bullying, he says, is a means of controlling another person. Shouting "Stop!" or another command empowers the victim and draws attention to the situation so that others can intervene. Mirrione recommends that this simple approach be implemented in schools nationwide

Further, Sensei John's book, Philosophy Of The Week is being used as a inner guide tool
as part of his Stop bullying campaign to teach self empowerment to children.

One-Arm Bare-Knuckle Push Up On Stone Slab

Highlights: On Friday April 15,2011, Sensei John Mirrione set a new world record. Under the watchful gaze of observers from Record Holders Republic, he performed the world's slowest one- arm, bare-knuckle push up on a stone block. The knuckles of his index and middle fingers supported his weight as, balancing on a stone block, he went down to a 90-degree angle, held himself there for 20 seconds, went down further, held himself for another 20 seconds, then went back up and held himself at the 90-degree angle once again. At the end his knuckles were bloodied, but Sensei John was happy.

"One extremely slow push up, which maintains perfect form is much harder to do than a series of fast ones which use momentum and in which form suffers." Sensei John said. "Plus it promotes the spirituality of martial arts because of the discipline, control and calm that's required in order to do it properly." Before performing the push up, Sensei John meditated briefly. The meditation was about going inside, relaxing and letting everything go. "I needed to be in a perfectly relaxed state," he says. "I couldn't go into it with an aggressive attitude if I wanted to be successful."

And the stone block? "It's the hardest natural substance in martial arts. If you don't fear the stone, you don't fear anything."

Breaking this record is not Sensei John's ultimate goal. He is fulfilling his quest to spread Stop bullying awareness throughout the country!

Sensei John continues his quest to spread his message of harmony!

Listen to Sensei John's interview on WBAI-FM Radio's Rape Declaration On Forum Show as he highlights his good works with Harmony By Karate's South African associate and victim, Ouma Chaane, who was a victim herself to abuse. Ouma recieved a Harmony by Karate Scholarship in 2008 in which she trained for two months to conquer her own fear through self-empowerment and the philosphies she practices - thanks to Sensei John's tutelage. Now, three years later, Ouma is training many students and helping the women and children of Orange Farm, South Africa protect themselves against the threats of violence they face in their community everyday. We are very proud of Ouma's efforts to better her life circumstances and positively affect all those around her.

Sensei John's interview continues to describe his success stories of his Stop bullying adventures as he strives to complete his National Stop Bullying Campaign tour.
