Seventh
Annual Harmony By Karate Classics
This year the HBK Classics will be held during
regularly scheduled classes
and will run for a full week.
There
are two aspects to the HBKClassics. The first
aspect is for our students to demonstrate their
karate skills and accomplishments through “randori”,
a Japanese term which means “grasping freedom”.
This freedom is expressed in freestyle
one-on-one sparring in which two karate players
exchange technique by attacking
and evading. It is the ultimate expression of
a student’s training.
The
second aspect of our HBK Classics event is the
idea of ‘giving to humanity’. Students
are encouraged to appreciate what they have, and
express that appreciation by doing something extraordinarily
kind for someone in the world. Students will have
the opportunity to share their personal experiences
of ‘giving to humanity’
during the HBK Classics week.
Dates: Sunday 5/1, Tuesday 5/3 and Thursday
