The martial arts "industry" in the states can be quite embarassing to those who wish to take it seriously. The "my guru & style can beat up your guru & style" is quite prevalent. Not to say that this doesn't exist in other countries, because it does. Politics are everywhere unfortunately.

    That said however, it's tough to find the "real deal" regardless of where you are. NYC is FULL of phenomenal artists and healers, but you really have to mine and dig a bit. Sensei John Mirrione is one of them.

    I have had the privilege of knowing Sensei John Mirrione as a business associate and friend for over a decade and will tell you that this is the guy you want nearby if you get pinned down in a foxhole. Sensei John truly embodies the best in the human spirit as a teacher, humanitarian, family man and leader.
